Twin Peaks is now a cult classic for a good reason. The art in storytelling through its dark themes, mystic symbolism , and elusive motifs presented through moving image and music. I wanted to create a multimedia project that dives into the psychology of its creators and that would offer fans like myself, a chance to interact with its material, through a non passive, interactive form of engagement, where elements of play and abstract thinking can come together.

Process highlights
Research
Mapped relationships between objects, characters, places, and dialogue, through an interactive game, to create a new way in which the themes and symbols of the show could be interpreted, leaving space for the installation to remain abstract.
The game consisted of simple word game, where participants were asked to match objects, feelings, and themes.
Design
Interaction design: aimed to create a third unknown space, following on from the abstract physical / non physical surreal spaces that Twin Peaks creates to tell supernatural narratives.
Input/output mapping: created a map to outline feedback loops. A mixture of anchors, objects, sounds, and other visual queues.
Visual development: While many visual elements come from the show, these had to be reinterpreted for the game. However, with new elements of the game, new visual elements were designed.
A fully functioning prototype created from scratch in unity.
